Privacy Policy
Last updated August 2026
DialFrontDesk ("we", "us") operates a phone and text answering service for trades and restaurant businesses in Canada. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's protected — both for our business clients and for the people who call or text a business using DialFrontDesk.
1. Information we collect
- From businesses (our clients): business name, contact details, service area, hours, greeting script, forwarding number, and billing information.
- From callers: the caller's phone number, the audio and/or transcript of the call, the content of any text messages exchanged, and any details volunteered during the conversation (e.g. the job or order they're calling about).
2. How we use it
We use this information to operate the Service: answering or texting back a missed call, understanding what the caller needs, creating a ticket for the business, and giving the business owner visibility into their calls, orders, and billing through their dashboard.
3. Call recording and consent
Calls handled by DialFrontDesk may be recorded and transcribed as part of delivering the Service. Businesses using DialFrontDesk are responsible for ensuring their greeting discloses this to callers where required by law. For text messages, we honor STOP and START keywords, and opt-outs are logged and respected going forward.
4. Who we share it with
We rely on a small number of trusted service providers to operate parts of the platform, including:
- Telecommunications providers, to carry phone calls and text messages
- Conversational AI providers, to power automated voice and text interactions
- Email delivery providers, for account and notification emails
- Payment processors, for billing where enabled
Each provider is contractually limited to using data only to help deliver the Service to you. We don't sell caller or client information to anyone, and we don't share it for any provider's own marketing purposes.
5. Data retention
We keep call and message records for as long as needed to provide the Service and meet our legal and accounting obligations, and delete or anonymize it when it's no longer needed.
6. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, and access to client data is limited to what's needed to operate and support the Service.
7. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, request corrections, and withdraw consent where applicable. If you're not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for use by businesses and their adult customers, and isn't directed at children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We'll post the updated version here with a new "last updated" date.
