Forward your missed calls to DialFrontDesk
Setup guide · takes about 5 minutes · your business number does not change
With this set up, your phone rings first, exactly like today. If you do not answer, the line is busy, or your phone is off, the call moves to your DialFrontDesk number and we pick up for you. If you answer, nothing changes.
Your DialFrontDesk number:
We email this to you when your account is ready. In the codes below, type it as 10 digits with no spaces or dashes, for example 5875550123.
Step 1. Pick your phone type
Mobile phone (iPhone or Android)
Open the Phone app, go to the keypad, type each code below exactly as written, and press the green call button. Wait for a confirmation message on screen after each one. Replace NUMBER with your DialFrontDesk number.
- Calls you do not answer
*61*NUMBER# - Your line is busy
*67*NUMBER# - Your phone is off or has no signal
*62*NUMBER#
Want it to ring longer before we pick up? On most carriers you can set the ring time (5 to 30 seconds) like this: **61*NUMBER**20# rings your phone for 20 seconds first. If you do not set it, your carrier uses its default, usually around 20 to 25 seconds.
Prefer the menus? On Android, open Phone, tap the three dots, then Settings, Calls, Call forwarding, and set When unanswered, When busy and When unreachable to your DialFrontDesk number. The iPhone menu (Settings, Phone, Call Forwarding) can only forward every call, so on an iPhone use the codes above.
Landline (Rogers, Telus and similar)
- Pick up the phone and dial
*92 - At the tone, dial your DialFrontDesk numberthen wait for the confirmation tone
To turn it off, pick up the phone and dial *93. These are the codes Rogers and Telus publish for their home and small business lines. Other providers use different codes, so if yours does not respond, call them and ask for “call forwarding on no answer and busy” to your DialFrontDesk number.
Office phone system, VoIP or cable business line
Log in to your phone provider’s portal (or ask whoever manages it) and set forward on no answer and forward on busy to your DialFrontDesk number. Most business phone systems have this under “call forwarding”, “call handling” or “ring groups”. Set the ring time to 15 to 20 seconds so callers are not left waiting.
Step 2. Test it (do not skip this)
- From a different phone, call your business number.
- Let it ring and do not answer. After the ring time, you should hear our assistant answer with your business name.
- Hang up. Your call and a short summary will show in your dashboard within a minute or two.
- Repeat once while you are on another call (busy) if you set up the busy code.
If it works, you are done. Nothing else to do, and your own phone keeps ringing first on every call.
If something does not work
- The phone says the code failed or is not supported. Use the menu method above, or call your carrier and ask for “conditional call forwarding for no answer, busy and unreachable” to your DialFrontDesk number. Carriers differ, so a code that works on one can be rejected on another.
- The call goes to your carrier’s voicemail instead of us. Voicemail is answering before forwarding kicks in. Ask your carrier to turn off voicemail on that line, or shorten the ring time with the optional ring-time code above.
- It forwards, but we do not answer. Tap Email us with the number you dialed from and the time, and we will check it right away.
- Charges. Forwarding is normally included, but some plans bill forwarded minutes. If you are unsure, ask your carrier before you start.
Turn forwarding off
You can switch it off any time, for example if you are going on a break and want calls to ring only your phone.
- Mobile, no answer:
#61#· busy:#67#· unreachable:#62# - Mobile, cancel all forwarding at once:
##002# - Landline:
*93
